Anyway. The sky has cleared, and now I'm seeing a thin rind of crescent moon peeking through the pines. It reminds me that watermelons will soon be affordable. There are watermelons in the supermarkets most of the year now, but until May they are mostly the costly imported ones. Now they're getting those from the San Joaquin valley, and local melons will be in the markets very soon. Ooh, and casabas! I didn't get many casaba melons last year, so I have to make up for that.
The coolness is almost over, and probably for real this time. It's lasted longer than I'd expected, but the temperature is expected to get back up into the eighties by Tuesday. Then, of course, there's 06/06/06 coming up, when the temperature on earth is expected to reach 2,000,000 degrees F. as Hell yawns open. Once we're past that, though, things should be fine.
Time to feed the cat.
