This afternoon, the air was still, but night has brought wind again. Pine needles crunch underfoot as I walk along the driveway. It is cool, and the moonless sky is full of flickering stars. It would be a nice night for a long walk, if I had the night vision of a cat or a raccoon. As I don't, I'll just sit on the porch and listen to the wind blow. There were clouds of wood smoke from fireplaces and stoves earlier, but they are gone now, so the air is breathable and fresh again.
