Early this morning, in the hour before dawn when the eastern sky has just begun to pale, I saw the crescent moon rising in a triangle of stars. I recognized Venus, at the lower left point of the triangle, but don't know which stars were at the top and the right. At any rate, this was a sight well worth seeing. I'm not sure in which direction the moon will be shifting on Thursday morning, but the sight should still be impressive. I plan to be watching again tomorrow.
