What with a couple of busy days, and a few hours of my ISP giving me weak connections (or it might be that the rain hat on my telephone box is leaking and needs to be changed), and LJ being disagreeably slow yesterday, I have some catching up to do. I expected to get it done during the night, but there were distractions. Then I made the waffle mistake, and that made me useless for anything other than lying on the floor in front of the television. It's a good thing the waffle mistake doesn't happen very often. Five hours later, I still feel as though I'd swallowed my cat whole and she had then given birth to a squirming litter of kittens in my stomach.
However, yesterday afternoon brought several of the loveliest hours of the year, when a pearly sky of dense clouds released repeated showers of fine mist saturated with diffused sunlight. I'd have liked to go for a walk, but needed to do some shopping while a car was available, so instead of the pine woods and greeny fields bejeweled with raindrops, I got to see the parking lot at Safeway, where bag boys rushed to retrieve the dew-specked shopping carts. Not quite as picturesque, but at least I was out of the house for a while.
I will now attempt to sleep, and I hope that the waffles don't become restless. |
