Well, Rats!

So before midnight it starts to cloud up and make all but the brightest stars go away. No aurora through this overcast. Looks as though there might soon be rain. I do like rain, but not when a meteor shower is due. Every year, the same thing. Ah, well, at least the overcast has put a halo around Venus, making it look like a scary ghost eye with bright pinpoint pupil. Deep delight of sky and splendid whirl; in spite of clouds I look up and am lost in the joy of vertigo.
