Unintended

Disruptions of my sleep over the last few days led to one of those unintended naps. I was watching television, and nodded off. I woke up, and the same show was still on, but I had a sense of deja vu. I had already seen that scene. Glancing at the clock, I saw the reason. It was one of those cable channels that repeats shows in three hour blocks all night, and I had slept just short of three hours. Well, at least I didn't miss any of the show. But now I have that dopey, muddle-headed feeling I get when I sleep unexpectedly, and I'll probably have an even harder time getting to sleep at my regular hour than I usually do. Drat.

For those who don't read lj_nifty, there was a post there earlier about a new program for downloading your entire journal: ljArchive. I was thinking of installing it, but found that it requires the .NET framework (available from Microsoft) which turns out to be 23968 KB. With my dial-up connection, it would take longer than Sluggo's life expectancy to download that. I guess I won't be installing the archive program for now. Too bad, because it has some interesting features, with more on the way. If you already have the .NETframework, or have a high-speed Internet connection, take a look at the post.

The clouds have thinned during the night, and a number of stars are now visible, though the halo around new-risen Venus reveals that the air is moist. Now I'm going to try to get some actual sleep, in a bed, without my neck stuck at an odd angle. Couches of less than seven feet in length were a terrible invention.
