Bookish

The birds have decided that rain is normal. They were out this afternoon, flying about and chirping and pecking at the lawn and the muddy flower beds. I guess they've gotten too hungry to remain huddled in their nests, or the rain has gone on for so long that even the nests are now wet. Whatever the reason, they added a note of cheer to the gray afternoon. The cats still prefer the indoors, though. They sat looking out the window at the avian antics, and showed no desire to go hunting.

I, too, lack any desire to go hunting. I don't even feel like hunting for anything on the Internet. Ironic that, in the dead of winter, when the computer is more reliable than it is in warm weather, all I want to do is curl up with a book and let the rain play its rhythms in the background.
