Cooler, at Last.

Most of the clouds gradually dissipated through the night, allowing the stars to emerge and the heat to escape. At last it has grown cool enough for me to read the last couple of days of posts.

This morning, I see that the last of the pansies are gone, and most of the remaining roses on the bushes across the street. The deer came by unnoticed again. There is little left for them to eat on this block now. I believe they enjoy the wild plums on the bushes next to the mulberry tree, but those have not yet appeared. It's too bad they can't eat oleanders. There are still plenty of those around.

It's supposed to remain cooler for the next few days -- only in the 80's, with lows in the 60's, so I ought to get in a few more walks, and maybe regenerate a few moribund brain cells, too, before the heat returns. Hope that Sluggo stays on his good behavior.
