Yesterday afternoon, the western sky was full of silver linings with hardly any cloud inside them. For sunset, they all turned pink. The heat is slightly less appalling than it was for a while, but still enough to give Sluggo the fits. It's supposed to be back over 100o again to day, though.
I'm also beginning to worry about next winter. As I recall, the worst winter we've had since I came here followed the hottest summer we've had. That was the winter when February brought a three day snowfall of 30 inches, and we lost power for about 60 hours, and the roofs of four stores caved in from the weight of the snow. That summer got as hot as this one has been, but not until August. Uh oh. August is almost here. There's a new moon today, and the next full moon will be on August 11th.
The kitty from across the street just came over to say goodnight to me. Must go out to see her. |
