Scattered Thoughts [May. 7th, 2003|08:01 pm]

It looks as though the new servers and whatever that load-balancing thing was haven't done anything to de-wonk LJ. It's being as crotchety as ever. I prefer the bugs that were swarming around the bushes today to those which infest this site. There were a few actual bees out there this afternoon. Even though the clouds persist with alarming tenacity, the air has warmed and the insects are making do with it. The atmosphere here has taken on an almost tropical quality. I feel uncomfortably warm under the gray sky, as though I ought to be downing gin and tonic to ward off malaria. A few days ago, it was Portland's weather. Now it is something almost like Somerset Maugham's weather. And me without a pith helmet, or even an aloha shirt!

If by PCC you mean Pasadena City College, then I did go there, many years ago.

If you are referring to any of the other schools which go by those initials (Portland Community College, for example), then no, I've never been admitted to any of them. ;-)

Oh goodness, I could only dream of being admitted to Portland Community College. The prestige, the grandeur... anyway, yes, I was talking about Pasadena. How many years is many?

It was 1986 when I departed the hallowed halls of Pasadena City College, but I have never forgotten that I had the honor of being a student at the school which is widely acknowledged to be second only to The California Institute of Technology among schools located south of Colorado Boulevard and east of Lake Avenue in Pasadena.

As for Portland Community College, I hear that brad himself was admitted to that prestigious institution only after he had completed a degree at the University of Washington -- and he was required to sign his name to a standard form!
