Remembering the Delphic Oracle [Mar. 21st, 2003|06:00 am]
rejectomorph
I don't feel like writing these days. I was going to write a post about our all-but-inevitable victory, and why, instead of celebrating it, I will be counting the losses so far and the greater losses to come. However much physical damage is done in Iraq, and those places which we will invade later, I believe that it will be nothing compared to the social and psychic damage which is already occurring here, and which will get worse. The optimistic and the bellicose will not credit it, I'm sure, but I see it around me as clearly as I see the trivial explosions in Baghdad flashing on the television screen. An ethereal earthquake is beginning, and the world we have known will be rent apart, victory or not.

Not an oracular pronouncement. More the ruminations of someone trying to puzzle out the full meaning of what the Oracle has said.

heh. I'm trying to read Colin Powell's entrails, and Bush hasn't even formally performed the ritual sacrifice of him yet.

Heh heh. I said Colin. and entrails. huhuhuhhuh.
