Respite

A blue day, with a bit of filmy white cloud here and there which turned vivid pink at sunset. Now, thrusting tangles of woven tree bones reflect bright moonlight, and shadow the colorless lawn with dark lace. Though a sunny day has dried the surface of the ground, springs yet flow from the saturated earth and send rills bubbling through the dark hollows, feeding the grasses that rustle in the chill breeze. It's a little bit like spring, tonight. Just a little.
