Reset Thirty-Eight, Day Twenty-Seven

Thursday the exhaustion caught up with me a bit earlier, and I went back to bed at five o'clock in the evening, when the sun was still up. When I woke up in darkness I hoped I had slept along time and it was perhaps five o'clock in the morning, but it was only half past ten. I tried to get back to sleep, but the brain hamster had started running in his wheel so I got up. I'd gone to sleep before dinner, so I ended up making a sandwich at midnight. Midnight supper! So romantic! There should have been candles.

The high temperature today is supposed to be below 70 degrees (only 69, so barely) for the first time in quite a while, and after a brief warming the next couple of days we are supposed to get an actual cold spell, with highs in the fifties and nocturnal lows as far down as 30. Winter, of a sort, by California standards, though sadly no rain is forecast. So far the smoke we've seen hereabouts has been from controlled burns, but I'm sure it won't be long before the first wildfires of the season arrive.

I'm hoping to get sleepy again soon, and it would be very nice if I could sleep until noon or so. These four hour sleeps are both exhausting and disruptive. It's going to get worse as the nights get shorter. I do hate not getting to sleep before dawn.

I also hate running out of sentences, but I have. This is tonight's last one.
