Reset Thirty-Eight, Day Three

Monday there was midday sleep, but I woke up again before nightfall, and have managed to stay fairly alert since then. This irregular sleepage is making it difficult to tell just how much I've slept. I'm yawning a lot, but that might be due to the apartment being rather stuffy. The days aren't cold enough to be winter, but aren't warm enough to have the windows open. It's sort of the worst of both worlds. And I've lost track of how much I'm sleeping out of each 24 hours. That's probably a sign of the apocalypse, which suggests that it's all my fault! The earth will most likely open up and swallow me soon. On the bright side, that means I'll probably take a big chunk of Chico with me. You're welcome.

There was a sandwich for dinner, not because I didn't want to get the apartment hot by cooking, but because I just didn't have the energy to cook. I didn't even want to microwave. Tight now I'm eating dry popcorn right from the bag, because I don't want to go to the bother of melting any butter. I plan on putting myself to bed soon. It's possible that I'm sleepy. I'm certainly tired, though that's not the same thing. I've begun reading a collection of short stories by Colette, and even if I'm not sleepy there is something about looking at an actual book that induces sleep. It doesn't work with computer screens, though I've found that music videos sometimes make me sleepy. Ears seem to be more easily soothed than eyes, just as they seem to be more easily excited than eyes. In fact I am soothing my ears at this very moment, in anticipation of soon going to sleep. Here is what I've been soothing them with:
