Reset Thirty-Six, Day Eight

The balmy start of December made Wednesday a strange day, and the strange day gave way to a strange night, and the strangest thing is that I went to bed around ten o'clock in the evening and got up about the time light was coming into the sky. In other words, for the second day in a row, I slept almost like a normal person, which is the strangest thing that has happened to me in ages. I didn't sleep the entire time, of course, but it's possible that the hours between three and seven I did sleep for a while but dreamed I was awake. That would be the least strange thing about it.

Anyway, I never got around to eating dinner Wednesday, and I'm not at all sure what is going to happen today, but there is a can of chili beans sitting on the kitchen counter unopened, and I'm thinking maybe that's breakfast. The dog who lives on the other side of the bike path out back us barking, and the barks make as much sense as anything I'm hearing from inside my head, so I'm wondering what that dog would do in my position. I think the dog would probably eat the chili beans. Should I take the wise dog's advice?

Maybe I'm still only dreaming that I'm awake.
