So I got back to sleep a bit before nine o'clock this morning, and a bit before ten I heard a piece of machinery start up outside. I thought it might be a leaf blower, blowing away the assortment of dead flowers (from the giant back fence bush) which have accumulated over the last couple of weeks, and then I thought it might be a hedge trimmer cutting back the low bushes under the windows, so I tried to ignore it, knowing that it would end soon.

Then the doorbell rang, so I got up and looked out the window and there was a big tank truck parked in the driveway right outside. They were pumping out the septic tank. The doorbell rang again and I answered it, and it was the landlord's son telling me that they will be re-roofing the building next Tuesday and Wednesday. So not only has this week been disrupted, but next week will be as well. I sure miss the good old days of the lockdown, when everything was peaceful and quiet.

I don't know when they will deal with those dead flowers, or trim the bushes under the windows, but I'm guessing Monday?
