Reset Sixteen, Day Fifty-Two
Thursday was not as rainy as predicted, but rainy enough to keep things constantly wet. I didn't risk going out to the laundry room, even though I need to do some laundry, as I feared I might end up getting caught in a sudden California downpour. I've been caught in those before, and they can soak you (and your basket of clean clothes) through in about ten seconds. As it turned out we didn't get any such downpours, but it looked as though one was imminent all afternoon. Now it looks as though all we'll be getting from the rest of the storm is some more drizzle and a few showers. It's supposed to be over by this evening.
Then we'll get a dryish day Saturday, and some more rain Sunday and Monday, with a transition to mere showers Tuesday morning and then a string of slightly warmer days followed by somewhat colder nights for a week or so. I'm hoping this isn't the end of the rainy season. We could get another atmospheric river before it's done, but it's not a certainty. I always recall that the biggest snowfall we had in al the years I lived in Paradise arrived in February, So winter could still have some actual winter in store for us.
I woke up very early Thursday, after only about six hours of sleep, so I'm now quite tired and think I won't have much trouble getting to sleep tonight. I got rid of some leftovers for dinner, and I think I'll have the second-to-last slice of cheesecake for a bedtime snack. The excitement probably won't be too much for me. What will happen when the sun comes out later today is anybody's guess.
