Reset Sixteen, Day Forty-Three

Tuesday, which was mostly sunny, was not unpleasant, and I started in on my newly acquired groceries. It was nice to have orange juice again, and then a donut, and later an actual cooked dinner, and finally a small slice of cheesecake. I didn't felt like nodding off at all al through the evening, but that's probably because I slept through the middle of the day, waking up after four o'clock in the afternoon. Getting to sleep was not easy, since the bedroom blinds don't fully block the bright afternoon sun (none of that alliteration was intentional.) What this portends for my sleep tonight I don't yet know. So far I don't feel tired, but once I get under the covers and start reading I just might drop off. It happens.

If I don't drop off right away there's a chance that I'll finish the book I've been reading lately, Salman Rushdie's Haroun and the Sea of Stories. It's quite delightful, and once I'm able to get back to the Goodwill store I hope to find more Rushdie. I've known of him for ages, but never read anything of his before, having been stuck so many years in a place without any good places to buy books, and never having developed a habit of buying them online. In the meantime I've still got loads of other stuff to read.

Since I managed to have dinner ready by ten o'clock, I was ready for a snack so I just made some popcorn. I'm so glad I found out that you can pop regular popcorn in a paper bag in the microwave, since it's so much easier than making it on
the stovetop, and much cheaper than the pre-packaged microwave corn (which I never much liked anyway.) And since it's popped without oil, I feel justified in adding a bit of extra butter to it when it's done.

It's supposed to be sunny again today, then it will cloud up a bit Thursday, and there's a 50% chance of showers Friday. Sunday will bring a 75% chance of full-on rain. I'm sure just about everyone around here will be glad to see it, if it comes. I will feel a bit better about not being able to go out if going out would have gotten me wet anyway.

Now I think I should wash dishes. I can't think of anything else.
