Reset Sixteen Day Twenty-five

The first day of the new year was pretty much the same as the last day of the old one. It was cool, and mostly cloudy, and I even heard some more fireworks being set off when evening fell. The main difference was that some car buffs spent much of the evening holding a gathering in the parking lot of the abandoned Kmart nearby, so I also heard a lot of screeching tires and revving engines and backfires. This happens down there periodically, and on such nights it's a little like living near a drag strip. They never come on my street, though, so I can deal with it.

There was no evening nap again, though I was tempted for a while. As I was considering it, an eyelash came out and started poking my eyeball, which was quite painful. It took me several minutes to get rid of it, and by that time I wasn't sleepy anymore, so I guess it was a good thing. I'd rather not have good things of that sort happen anymore, thanks.

No arrangements have yet been made to get anything from the stores. There's some chance of rain for the next few days, though only on Monday is it close to certain, but as I don't want to send anyone out in the rain to fetch stuff for me I'm feeling reluctant to make a decision. Tuesday might be the best shot, but we'll have to see.

The new years has not cleared the fog from my brain. I didn't expect it to, of course, but it would have been a nice surprise had it happened. One doesn't get a lot of nice surprises just sitting around at home, though. You have to plan the nice things. Right now I plan to eat some chocolate and read and then go to sleep. That should be nice, though no surprise.
