Day Out

Despite having been awake since four o'clock in the morning, I managed to get out to do the banking and shopping Monday, and even remembered to put the trash wheelie bin out at the street after I got back. Then I crashed from exhaustion, and slept from about seven o'clock in the evening until one o'clock in the morning. Hopefully I'll get more sleep this morning, since once again I didn't manage to get to all the stores I wanted to, so I'll try to get to Safeway this afternoon, if I wake up in time. There are few things to buy there, so it shouldn't take long.

The virus infection rate in the region is the highest it's ever been, and considering the fact that every place I went was busy, and traffic was heavy, I expect it will continue heading up for quite some time. I moved enough money from my savings account into my checking account that I should be able to cover the rent for two months without another trip to the bank. Perishable foods will be another problem, though. The freezer has only so much room in it, and I'm sure I'll need more milk and such in early January, but maybe I can just have someone pick that stuff up for me.

Anyway, after today I'll be locking myself back down for the foreseeable future, if nothing essential comes up that absolutely must be dealt with. The situation could be way better, but could also be much worse, and I expect it will get worse before it gets better. I'm thinking 2020 is about to drop an enormous, stinking turd on 2021. But hey, Jupiter and Saturn aligned on December 21. At lest there's something rare to look at. I suspect it will cloud up here. Well, California needs rain more than it needs portents anyway.
