Reset Fifteen, Day Eight

It's probably a good thing that I'm sleeping so much, but I wish it wasn't happening at such odd hours. Plus having two long periods of sleep a day means I have to wake up twice, and I am not a morning person, whatever time of day the morning comes. Sunday my second sleep didn't begin until after dawn, and the last time I went outside before sleeping I heard the mockingbird singing, which is about the only good thing about being awake that time of day for me.

The weather forecast is saying it will be 68 degrees here today. That's probably as close as we'll get to balmy for the rest of the year. There is supposed to be some wind, too, but that's because of the cold front that will bring the rain on Tuesday and maybe Wednesday. After that storm the nights will get down into the thirties again, so I'm putting the electric blanket back on the bed. I've decided not to try washing it, as the process is too elaborate.

While I was considering trying to walk to a nearby store or two now that the days are cool, I probably won't. Although not as bad as most states, California is going through another spike in infections, and this time of year I doubt the stores will be as well ventilated as they were when it was warmer and the air conditioning systems were on full blast. In any case I doubt I'll have the energy today, and the next two days will likely be rainy, and three days from now the spike will almost certainly be even worse. It's bad timing.

I don't know if I'll be awake to hear the mockingbird sing today. It wouldn't be as pleasant today anyway, as Sundays the freeway is quieter. Today it's already noisy with heavy traffic. Lots of trucks going by. I can even hear them with the apartment closed up. I don't think I'll ever get used to having that noise so close.

For the last couple of days I've been sneezing a lot. What the hell is that about? Fall allergies? That's all I need.
