My ribs ache from a ten minute coughing jag brought on when I accidentally (of course) inhaled some water. Lately I've developed an odd thing where when cold liquid hits my tongue I compulsively gasp. My mom used to get that, and never found out what caused it. I'll probably never find out either, but it's damned annoying.
Planes did not disrupt my sleep after all. As the fire was in an area as close to other airports as to Chico, and as the lakes from which water can be scooped by the planes were not too far from the fire itself, I think that CalFire must have moved its base of aerial operations out of Chico for this fire. The fire has not exploded as rapidly as was first feared, and it was more than half contained by Monday evening.
My neck is getting creakier by the day, and tonight I've had a low-grade headache that is undoubtedly related to that. I'm really wishing I'd gotten ahold of a chiropractor last summer. This is not a good time to do that. If worse comes to worse I do have Ibuprofen on hand, though I hate to take the stuff. In the meantime I'm just being very careful with my neck, especially when lying down and getting back up. The fact that I'm falling apart is one of those things that is hard to remember, though, except when something is actually hurting.
Rats, I just nodded off and almost fell out of my chair. I need to sleep.
