Out Sort of About

As I was awake early Wednesday morning I decided to make early runs to mail a bill, visit CVS, and check the farmers market before the day got too hot. By the time I reached the mail box I was exhausted, but I pressed on and got beer and ice cream and some spicy popcorn at CVS, then walked through the farmers market on the way home. I was hoping to find a casaba melon, but saw no melons of any kind at any of the thirty or forty booths comprising the market. It was quite disappointing. Plus even that early in the day the heat was appalling, and the walk home was even more exhausting than the walk over there.

Naturally I collapsed on getting home and went to sleep for about five hours. When I got up I found that I had failed to put my purchases away, including the ice cream. Further evidence that I get stupider every day. So I ended up having a very expensive breakfast/lunch of about half a pint of Ben & Jerry's New York Super Fudge Crunch pudding. There was no way I was going to try to re-freeze that stuff. I'm going to miss having that ice cream on hand. I wasted about half of it, too, as there was just to much to eat on one sitting.

Now it's late again and it's still hot outside, and I'm exhausted again, and I just finished dinner an hour ago and haven't done the dishes, but I'm going to leave them for tomorrow. I seriously need some sleep. The heat is continuing, and getting worse for the next two days before easing just a bit, but not enough. Next week will at least remain in the double digits. I should try to do some laundry today too, despite the heat. My brain so addled I'll probably forget.
