Although I was a bit slow and missed the most convenient run of the bus, I still went to a bus-accessible store today, as I was completely out of orange juice, tea, and cottage cheese. While there I also picked up a candy bar, a container of grapefruit juice, some tomatoes, a dozen fresh eggs, and a spicy ramen bowl. Because I took a later bus than usual I didn't get home in time to go to the Plaza before it got too dark. I might not get there tomorrow either, as there is now a 70% chance of showers by Saturday afternoon, and I don't want to be getting wet. Sunday's showers are supposed to be in the morning, so perhaps I'll be able to get out that afternoon. If not then, then Monday. Tuesday is supposed to be wet again.

The spicy ramen made a decent dinner, and I've settled down for a quiet night of reading, as soon as I'm done with Internets. I've not been feeling my best today, and it has seemed so cold in here tonight that I've turned the thermostat all the way up to 71. It's actually not as cold outside tonight as it was last night, but for some reason this apartment just felt like an ice box. I might make some cocoa and put a shot of brandy in it again. That's pretty good at warming me up. I ought to have looked for a container of Guittard cocoa mix at the store today, as I was in the only one that I know of that carries it, but it didn't even cross my mind. There's only enough left for one serving.

My brain keeps trying to shut down tonight, so I'd better quit taxing it with attempts at thought. It never cooperates when it gets like this, which is more often all the time. Maybe some very trivial reading material will make it happy for a while. I've got plenty of that among my expanded collection of books.
