Decisions, Decisions

My goodness, how late it is. This evening I made and ate a fairly elaborate dinner for the first time in quite a while, and it took longer than I'd expected it to. I was rather late getting started, too. Anyway, I definitely overate, and now I have to clean up the kitchen, and this is how I have chosen to celebrate the cool weather. Probably not the smartest choice I've ever made. But then it's only happening once (I hope) so I can look forward to not having to do it again— at least not for a while.

I went to Trader Joe's and bought fresh milk and a new bottle of Kahlua, and earlier this afternoon I went to Grocery Outlet and got donuts and a few other items, plus I got three loads of laundry done, so accomplishments. The mockingbird has returned, and spent quite a while singing in the bush that tops my back fence, and I was very pleased to hear that. I there was any more rain last night I missed it, although it took me forever to get to sleep, and then forever to get back too sleep when I woke up after about two hours. I don't know what the deal is with my sleep, but I wish it would knock it the hell off. Anyway, it didn't rain today, which is okay I guess since it let me get out without getting wet.

All in all a somewhat stressful day, but not disastrous. Now it is October, and I have no idea what to do next. Wear warmer clothes, I suppose, would be one thing. Right now it would be just clean up that mess in the kitchen. My brain doesn't want to do it, but then it doesn't want to do anything else either, so I guess I get to decide without its meddling. Clean up the mess it is, then, and then get to bed before my yawns break my jaw, and hope that it's easier to get to sleep tonight than it was last night.
