So something I was worried about has turned into something to be pleased about. The credit was quite a bit larger than usual this month, which is why the bill went away altogether. But this has happened at least once before, and if I recall correctly I did get an actual paper bill in the mail that time, showing the credit and the balance as $0.00. Whether they didn't send one this time, or they sent one and it got lost, makes no difference. I have no gas and electric bill to pay! I might take a few extra bucks out of the bank to spend on something frivolous, like more pie perhaps. Or extra beer. The rest of the savings will go for getting the property taxes paid on time, of course. The state giveth, and the state taketh away.
Rain has reappeared on the long range forecast, still next Monday, but it is only a 13% chance. I suppose a lot can happen in six days, but suspect that it's more likely to vanish again than to become more likely. In the meantime I'll have to keep watering the yard. I enjoy the watering, but the evenings are getting so short that I need to get it done quite a bit earlier than I used to, and I keep forgetting to do it until it's almost dark.
Shorty, the black feral cat, remained in the yard today instead of going off to wherever he's been going for the last few days. It was nice to have him hanging around again, though he does still seem rather more skittish than usual. I'm rather more skittish than usual myself. Maybe it's something in the air. Actually, I think my brain is collapsing. I'll probably fall asleep in front of the television very soon.
