Short

This afternoon I enjoyed watching the butterflies who were enjoying the lilacs. Several of them fluttered by as I (and one of the feral cats) watched, and I'm sure more visited while I wasn't there. Not only are the lilacs blooming, but catkins have appeared on the walnut tree. It looks like the weather will be good for them over the next week, with no rain to wash the pollen away and no nocturnal freezes or excessive daytime heat. I might get a decent walnut crop this year, if the weather continues to cooperate all summer.

Sleeping late again, plus various and sundry other things, ate my time today and it's much later than I'd like it to be. Funny how the days seem to be getting shorter while they are actually getting longer.
