Last night I had a bout of insomnia, and didn't get to sleep until around seven o'clock this morning. Then I didn't wake up until almost two o'clock this afternoon. It has left me more muddleheaded than usual. I'm hoping the missing two hours of sleep will make it easier for me to get to sleep tonight. Before sunrise, at least.

It is gradually getting warmer, and I had a couple of windows open for a couple of hours today. Tomorrow I can probably have more of them open for a couple more hours. The open window days should last at least through late next week, but there are not yet any open window nights in sight. The open window nights usually follow closed window days when it starts getting really hot, so I have mixed feelings about them. I like having the windows open at night, but I'm definitely not looking forward to the hot days.

The new month sort of sneaked up on me. I didn't notice until this evening that May had arrived. That's what I get for not being a Communist, or a Maypole-loving pagan, I guess. But I'm expecting those springtime allergies to start kicking in any day now. Probably tomorrow, in fact, since the clouds will be entirely gone then. Then I'll know when it is for sure. Goodbye, romantic overcast. Hello, sneezes.
