Disrupted

It's terribly late again, but then I had an odd sleep schedule again. I didn't nap, but I didn't get up until after two o'clock Thursday afternoon. The weather report lied about Thursday being rainy. There was rain very early, but then around nine o'clock in the morning I was awakened by bright sunshine streaming around the edges of the blinds. I hadn't had enough sleep, so I stayed in bed, but it took a couple of hours to get back to sleep, and then once I did I slept way too long. Despite the clear afternoon I never got out of the apartment. The afternoon felt all squeezed, and so has the night.

It's gotten very cold tonight. Although there is no rain it is very humid, and that makes the cold feel more intense. Friday's high is expected to be only 53, and I don't know that I'll feel like getting out in that. Of course if I were in Chicago right now I'd probably be dead within two minutes of stepping out the door, so it's undoubtedly silly of me to be repelled by 53 degrees, but what can I say? I've never recovered from growing up in Los Angeles. It's going to be 66 there tomorrow. Oh, I miss southern California winters.

I'm very sad tonight. I think I'll try to read myself out of it. The Internet isn't helping. I need to hear pages turning.
