Creep and Crawl

Today I've been dealing with more infestations of ants. So far I've had to clean off the kitchen counter five times. I'm running out of Windex to spray the little buggers with, and my waste basket is filling up with damp, Windex-scented paper towels dotted with hundreds of tiny formicid cadavers. I've been unable to discover where they are coming from.

It doesn't help that the nephew got into my ice cream this morning and dripped bits of it in several places, and failed to clean it up. He must be the ants' nephew, too. I'm rid of the drips now, but the ants seem to think they will find more and keep returning. I still think it's mostly heat-related, though. Hot weather and wet weather are the only times I get ants.

The coming week will be hotter than this one has been, and I'm not looking forward to it. Indeed the only good thing I expect this week is my appointment with the chiropractor on Tuesday. It will have been six weeks since my last adjustment, so it might not be easy, but it will be way better than letting it go another week.

No English people murdered one another on PBS tonight, so I'm disappointed, despite my own repeated slaughter of the ants. It just isn't the same.
