|A Different Tuna

So I ate my tuna sandwiches then put a load of laundry in the washer and walked down to the Grocery Outlet for a can of baked beans. I also bought a Singapore Laksa Curry ramen bowl on impulse. I'm not a big curry fan, but it was cheap, and it's been over thirty years since I last had curry so I thought maybe I should try it again. |
One thing I saw but didn't buy is a package of frozen penne pasta with vegetables made by Michael Angelo. That company made a vegetable lasagna which had the tastiest sauce I've ever found in a frozen Italian dinner, and nearly the best from anywhere. Sadly, they discontinued it a couple of years ago, and I'm thinking perhaps the same sauce is used on the penne and vegetables.
The problem is that it's a family size package, which would mean three meals for me, and if it isn't good I've got a problem. Also I would need to have the oven on, which I'd rather not do in this weather, and then find room in the refrigerator for the two servings of leftovers. Maybe I'll buy it anyway, next time I go there, as I've been Jonesing for the vanished lasagna, and this could be as close as I can get.
My last load of laundry for the day is about to come out of the dryer, and after that I've got the rest of the night to read. My eyes need a break from the computer monitor, which is looking awfully bright for some reason. Maybe I changed a setting without realizing it, or maybe it's just my eyes being weird. Anyway, I'm going to finish an Armistead Maupin novel tonight, and maybe start on another Hammett, since I still have two of those to read.
Of course I didn't take any bus rides today, and the imminent return of hotter weather makes it unlikely I will do so soon. It's a good thing I've got a few stores within easy late evening walking distance or I might starve, or at least die of beer thirst, before the weather cools off again.
