Forgetful Again

I just realized that it's been at least a couple of weeks since I've seen my skunks. Raccoons are still coming around, sometimes in trios, but the skunks are laying low. They might have given up coming here because the raccoons usually beat them to any leftover cat food, and the squirrels finished off the last of the walnuts some time ago. Skunks eat grass, too, but my lawn is dead, since I never water it. The skunks probably think I'm a lousy innkeeper. I wonder if they gave me bad Yelp reviews, to warn the other skunks away? I wouldn't blame them.

Tomorrow is head-yanking day with the chiropractor. Probably not an ideal day to be going out, the streets being full of voters drunk on power. I intend to stop on the way home to see if Safeway has any of the bread they were out of Sunday. I must try to remember, though my memory gets crappier by the day. In fact right now I'm trying to remember something I was going to do, but it's staying as aloof as those skunks. It isn't the wheelie bins, because I already dealt with them. Ah, well, it'll come to me, I'm sure. In the middle of the night when I'm on the verge of falling asleep, no doubt.

Our gradual descent into fall is proceeding. It was a bit cooler today than yesterday, and will be a bit cooler still tomorrow. I forgot to go out and look at the sunset this evening, but as there were very few clouds today it probably wasn't as spectacular as yesterday's was. No clouds are predicted until next Sunday, when a series of partly cloudy days begins, and those will be dry clouds again. So, neither sunsets nor rain for the first half of this November. Is it time to start worrying yet? Probably. But I'll probably forget to do it.
