No more than a few showers fell this afternoon, and then the clouds began breaking up. The sky was enlivened by fluffy white clumps of them, until they turned pink and mauve at sunset. Their absence has now turned the night colder than any other recent night. It is heading for a low of thirty, which will probably freeze the water in the feral cats' bowls. Tomorrow will have a high of only fifty or so, and I'll probably catch a chill when I go shopping and die of it and never get to eat the stuff I buy (this is probably a slight exaggeration.)

I had corned beef and cabbage Tuesday, so there was only corned beef hash for Saint Patrick's Day. I blame him for driving all the snakes out of Ireland anyway. I'm sure he drove them all to California where they became agents in Hollywood or started tech companies in Silicon Valley. For this he doesn't deserve a holiday in his honor. That's why I celebrated today as Saint Gertrude's Day instead. She's the patron saint of cats, too. Maye I should have eaten tuna instead of hash.

For the last few days I've had a low-grade headache off and on. This might be the result of my chiropractic adjustment on Tuesday. Sometimes it will fix one thing but stir something else up, which then has to be fixed by the next adjustment.

Oh, crap, it's almost midnight. Where did the time go?
