The moon is waxing again. I try not to do that myself. I like to stay the same size as much as possible. That way I don't have to buy new clothes. That's a problem the moon doesn't have. The moon is always naked. That's why they call it mooning, I suppose.

But I don't think my brain is the same size. I think the heat is making it swell up. It takes my thoughts longer to get around in it because the distances are greater. I'm always slow in the summer, and this is probably why.

For dinner I boiled three ears of corn. It's not a bad dinner in hot weather. Lunch was bigger, and involved only the refrigerator and the microwave. I'm not sure what I'll do tomorrow. Tomorrow is too far away to think about. Tonight is close, though. So very close and hot. It will probably be dawn before the house is cool enough to be comfortable to sleep in. I don't think I can stay awake that long. I'm having waking dreams about the bad dreams I'm going to have when I pass out in this heat.
