Only time for a short post this morning. I had to shut Sluggo down for a while when the gentle rain which had been falling all night suddenly turned into a spectacular thunderstorm- the first of the season- with lots of hail and downpours of rain. Some of the lightning strikes were very close, and the thunder rattled the walls. I loved it! But it used up all my time. Now I must sleep. I'll have more reading than usual to catch up on this afternoon.
After the rain, the grey east broods, but, in the west, the clouds break and turn bright, and swaths of blue appear. The sunlight streams down and steams arise from rooftops and bright pavements. All the green comes alive in the trees, and their wet trunks and branches are dark. Flowers glisten and the birds sing. Still time for a walk.
