Maybe...

We've been enjoying more soft rain today. Or perhaps I should say I've been enjoying it. I haven't asked anyone else, and I know for certain that the feral cats are not enjoying it. They are surely ready for this winter to be over, and will be happy once it is. In this they are the opposite of the frogs, who are singing joyfully again tonight. The frogs have a saying: "When you are tired of rain, you are tired of life." Or maybe that was Samuel Johnson talking about London. I'm forever confusing London with rain and Johnson with frogs. It's understandable. London is known to be rather rainy, and Johnson looked a bit like a frog.

The rain must have washed my brain away, as I was going to watch something on television this afternoon, and I got hung up and totally forgot about it. And it's not like I accomplished anything on the Internets, which is where I spent most of the time I wasn't outside watching the rain fall and the cats fidget. I didn't even get around to checking the supermarket ads and making out my shopping list, which is the only task I have regularly scheduled for Wednesday. I wonder what Dr. Johnson would say about that? I'm sure he'd have a clever and cutting remark. I can't think of any myself. I wonder what Dr. Johnson would say about that? I'm thinking maybe "Sir, the Internet and the rain overflowed and drowned you."

...maybe not.
