Well, most of them are tasty. There is one variety, an off-white bean, that has a flavor I've been unable to identify but which I find quite repellent. Still, I keep eating them in hopes of identifying the flavor. It might be toasted marshmallow, but if so the flavor is a failure. I don't much like marshmallows, toasted or otherwise, but this is far worse. It's driving me crazy that I can't figure out what it's supposed to be. So I'm both queasy and crazy. Thanks, Jelly Bellies.
Absolutely love the licorice flavor, though, but I'm disappointed that I have yet to find a jalapeño flavored bean in this bag. The green ones I've gotten so far have all been either mint, lime, or sour apple.
My dinner will probably have to be delayed quite a while, as I no longer have any appetite. It might not be what I'd planned on eating, either. Unless I feel better soon I'll probably end up eating something lighter. I might even just make a small bowl of popcorn again, which is what I sometimes end up doing when something puts me off my feed.
Hmm, I wonder if the unidentifiable flavor of the odd bean is supposed to be buttered popcorn? Now that I think of it, it does remind me a bit of that awful "buttery flavoring" that microwave popcorn companies put on their bad, overpriced convenience crap. I'm glad I found out I could microwave regular popcorn in a plain brown paper bag. Cheaper and better, and I get to use real butter on it.
Okay, I just Googled it, and Jelly Belly does make a buttered popcorn bean, and it's the color of the ones I've been unable to identify, so I guess that's what they are. I find it to be one of the most disgusting things I've ever tasted, and surely the most disgusting candy I've ever eaten, but apparently some people really like it, because they sell bags of nothing but buttered popcorn flavored beans. Well, there's no accounting for tastes, I guess. Maybe its fans will be lucky and go to Hell, because I'm sure that's where that flavor originates.
The moon is just about full tonight, and I'm lucky to be getting a look at it because tomorrow the clouds, and possibly the rain, will return. No more clear days until Friday, and no more mild days until Saturday. Good. My yard will remain damp and I won't have to irrigate.
