Oh, Dear

While the telephone service was restored several days ago, the washing machine is still broken and this computer is still on its last legs. I've been wondering what would go next, and tonight the garbage disposal quit working and the kitchen drain began to back up. These related events occurred as I tried to grind up half a stick of celery that was also on its last legs. Machinery wishes to punish me for something, but I'm not sure what.

I think there's a reset button on the disposal, but I don't know if that will work, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to do anything at all about the drain. I might get a mechanically inclined nephew to look at it. If he can't do anything then I'll have to call a plumber. I like plumbers, but I hate giving them money. Especially when It's going to be a squeeze to pay the rest of the property taxes that are soon due, and I still have to do something about the washing machine. The drain must take precedence, though. I can do laundry at the laundromat, but I can't take my dishwater anywhere else to dump it.

2016 has not been a good year. It owes me, big time, but I have no idea how to make it pay.
