My injured cat bolted out the door about three o'clock yesterday afternoon, and settled herself under the juniper bushes in the front yard of the vacant house next door. I've had to go out and check on her periodcally all night. She refuses to come home, crawls deeper into the brush when I try to nab her, and hasn't eaten or had a drink of water in about fifteen hours. She has always been an obstinate and independent cat. I hope she gets hungry or thirsty enough to come home soon. I don't like the idea of her being out there all day with nobody to keep an eye on her.
