So far I haven't heard any thunder, but I'm expecting it soon enough. The storm has produced winds of 60 MPH on the est side of the valley, and they got some quarter-sized hailstones along with lots of lightning and torrential rain. It could be a spectacular night, but the odds of a power outage are high so I'll be shutting sown the computer now.
The thing that worries me most is the possibility of lightning igniting multiple fores. Several years ago a May thunderstorm lit hundreds of little fires all over the northern part of the state and they ended up burning until fall. We ha to evacuate for three days, and the air reeked all summer. I don't want another summer like that one.
