It has turned cloudy again, though no more rain is expected until Wednesday. Then it will be more or less rainy until a break on Sunday, then rain is expected to return on Monday and possibly stick around the rest of next week. This is likely to turn out to be the soggiest January we've had here in decades. I'm so glad the roof has been replaced, and I hope it holds up against this persistent battering.

One of the stores had a sale on avocados last week and I bought five of them. They were all about equally unripe, and now they are all going to ripen at the same time, so I'm going to be getting an avocado overdose tonight and tomorrow. It was probably stupid to buy so many at once, but I couldn't resist the low price.

Tomorrow I go to the chiropractor and get my head yanked. I've had a recurring low-grade headache for the last couple of days and maybe the adjustment will get rid of it for me, so I can be less distracted—or at least succumb to other distractions, like Portia's demand that I let her on my lap. Well, it's too annoying to use the keyboard with a cat under my elbows, and the only way to keep her off of me is to get up, so no more tonight. Besides, those avocados are not getting any firmer.
