In the meantime, the current storm is probably going to be bringing some strong wind, too. It has been breezy all evening, but tomorrow morning there could be steady winds of 25MPH and gusts up to 55. That's enough to bring down trees with rain-soaked roots, and the trees could bring down utility poles, so we're back to the danger of power outages, and even if the power stays on there could be Internet outages. My Internets have been unreliable for weeks, and the storm could make it worse, so I don't know if I'll even be online tomorrow. I intend to dig out a couple of books to read, just in case.
I did finally get around to having tea and biscotti today, though I slept late and didn't get it until close to three o'clock this afternoon. That was probably late enough that the caffeine will keep me awake most of the night. The cable should survive at least until the wind comes, so if it goes out it probably won't be until I've gone to sleep. That would be a pretty effective way of getting the television turned off. I almost always fall asleep with it on. If cable does go out, a few hours without it won't save much on my electricity bill, but every bit helps.
Whether there's anything on television or not, this feels like a popcorn night, so I'm going to go make some. Oh, as soon as I bring in the stuff I've got in the dryer. I figured I'd better get the laundry out of the way in case we lose power. Winter is so complicated.
