The outage turned out to be widespread, blacking out the whole town extending even into the valley. A transformer blew up. The power came back on just before noon, so then I was able to open the refrigerator and get stuff for lunch. I'm glad I wasn't at the computer when it happened. It always freaks me out when the screen goes black and the hard drive and fans stop whirring. I always expect the worst when that happens. OMG! The computer died! No more Internets! Not having Internets would be like the end of the world for me. It's really sad how dependent I've become on this stupid machine.
