It rained last night, but I slept through it. I woke to find the lawn sparkling with raindrops under a bright sun and a sky full of fluffy white clouds. It remained bright most of the day, though the clouds thickened toward evening. The rain is not supposed to return until Thursday, but tomorrow is going to be cooler than today was, and tonight will be downright chilly. I'll enjoy it while I can. There's no telling when torrid weather will arrive.

It was a busy day. The light switch in the hallway has been repaired, and I can now see just how grotty the carpeting has become. It may be better to light one candle than to curse the darkness, but I have mixed feelings when I think about all the vacuuming an abundance of light can demand.

The rain gave me a day of relief from the pollen, and I have sneezed seldom today. I suppose I'll make up for it tomorrow, when the landscape will have dried out again, but I'm looking forward to the possibility of rain three days in a row. I don't even mind if I end up getting wet when I go shopping next Sunday. A dry nose is worth a bit of damp clothing.
