There's a house up the street that still has its Christmas lights on every night. It's not the fault of the house, of course, but of its occupants, but the lights make the house look weird. They are blue fairy lights draped around the eaves. They are dim and a bit creepy. Dark blue is a strange color for Christmas, and all in all the place looks a bit like it might be a whorehouse for the un-dead. Every time I see the place by night I keep expecting to see a zombie or two shambling up to it. They ought to have had those lights for Halloween, not Christmas. But if they aren't going to take them down I wish they would at least leave them turned off.

The prediction of rain for tomorrow is now up to 100%, but I'll believe it is really going to happen when I hear it and see it and feel it. If it does turn up I won't want to feel it for very long, though, because it's supposed to be a very cold rain. I don't know where the cold is coming from, because it was quite mild today, and will be mild again on Sunday. Then it is expected to get up to 70 degrees next Tuesday, and stay fairly warm all week. It might be that winter is only going to last about forty hours this year, so I intend to enjoy it while it lasts.

But perhaps this will be one of those years when it snows on the first day of spring. It might as well. The flowers that are likely to bloom this month will be falling apart by then anyway. The weather is going as haywire as my sleep schedule.

  • Reset Twenty-Two, Day Six

Monday brought more sleep, this time from about one o'clock in the afternoon until just after six in the evening. The one advantage of that was that…

  • Reset Twenty-Two, Day Five

The sleep schedule weirdness is continuing. Sunday I woke up around two o'clock in the afternoon after sleeping almost eight hours, but when ten…
