The gas and electric bill came today, and it wasn't as bad as I'd expected it to be. I'll have an extra fifteen dollars to save toward taxes and insurance. The next week is expected to remain mild, so unless the latter part of the month and early November turn very cold I might save a bit more on next month's bill as well. Odds are that I'll end up spending more on groceries than I'd planned, though, and wipe out the savings. I also have to remember that the price of my Internets will be going up in November. I must remember to call AT&T and threaten to decamp to Comcast. That usually brings the price down a bit, though I'm sure it won't come down as much as it did last year.
But enough about vulgar money. Early this morning I went out and saw Orion high in the southern sky. Tonight I might go out and watch him rise above the pine trees, if I don't fall asleep too soon. I'm not sure what time I fell asleep last night, but I think it must have been before eleven o'clock because I don't remember seeing The Daily Show. But I think I thought it was Sunday yesterday (because I never got around to reading the Sunday paper on Sunday) and maybe I just didn't remember that it was on. I can't remember what I did watch. Turning into an old guy with a bad memory is weird. I hope I never forget who Orion is.
