The Wrong Day

A scheduling conflict meant that I had to do my weekly shopping today, and now I keep thinking it's Sunday. The stores were zoos, though. They are always busier on Saturday than on Sunday. But it means I won't have to go out tomorrow, so I can laze about all day— insofar as one can laze with stiff joints and a sore shoulder. The chiropractic adjustments are not lasting as long as they used to.

It was fairly warm today, and will be again tomorrow, but it will cool off after that and by Tuesday we could get another rain. I'm going to try to get some of the leaves into the wheelie bin on Monday, so they won't get soaked again. I should really try to get the rain gutters cleaned out before more rain arrives, too, but I don't like getting up on the ladder when my sense of balance is as bad as it;s been of late. It was never very good, but it's been getting worse, along with everything else. Aging is very inconvenient.

The cicadas sound as though they've been energized by the warm day, even though the evening has cooled rapidly. The furnace hasn't run for several hours, but I expect that it will start up again before morning. The low is to be 50 degrees, and it is apt to be breezy again. Even with the added weatherstripping I got a couple of years ago this house sheds heat rapidly when it gets chilly outdoors. I'm keeping the blankets handy.
