I'm still waiting for that sudden downpour, though with mixed feelings. I'd surely enjoy listening to the rattling of rain on the leaves and roof and the gurgling of the downspouts, but I'm still worried about my un-patched roof. Any sustained rainfall is bound to activate the leak. I'm quite sure I won't be able to enjoy the lovely but subdued fall colors I can see from my window if drips begin falling on my head.
When I took a shower today I raised the thermostat to 68 degrees, but then after the shower I forgot to turn it back down to 66. Now I've grown accustomed to the warmth and don't want to give it up. I can hear the money burning every time the furnace fires up, and picture the earth cracking as the gas hunters frack for new wells, but I can't help myself. It's so comfy!
Now, afternoon tea for a gray afternoon. The best hot tea of all.
