Delioned

The lawn is mowed again, and all the dandelions in the front yard are gone. They'll be back soon enough, of course. They've spewed a vast number of seeds out there, and there's no way they could be prevented from returning, unless I want to resort to not watering the lawn at all for the rest of the year. Even then they'd still be back after the first combination of rain and warm days.

I like the dandelions myself, but when the front yard looks like a dandelion farm I do have to endure all those scowls, looks of disgust, and slow head-shakes from the neighbors as they pass by. So far none have shot at me.

We expect to get a couple more mild days, and then a heat wave will arrive next week. It's good to have most of the yard work out of the way before a heat wave comes along. The lurid sunset will be going away for the weekend, too, since there won't be any clouds. This evening we've got lots of fluffy little cumulus, so I'm expecting to see some color in the sky. Because the air is so pleasant I'm going outside to watch the day end and listen to the birds bid it farewell.
