Disarray

The painting project is messing with my sleep schedule. It's noisy all day, so I end up falling asleep on the couch at odd hours, but still haven't had enough sleep by the time the noise starts in the morning. The feral cats are displeased, too. This morning I slept through their feeding time, and later the commotion kept them away from the yard until late afternoon. When they finally got fed about four o'clock, they didn't hang around for long. I guess they don't feel quite so comfortable here now. There will be at least two more days of disruption, tomorrow and possibly Monday, and if not Monday then next Wednesday. Possibly there will be disruption on all three days. I'll be glad when the project is done.

We're only a month into autumn, and the shortness of the days is already bothering me. I know I'll be miserable when we go back on standard time and it gets dark by six o'clock. The ends of the years have always been difficult for me, and I'd be much better off if I could hibernate like a bear. Bears have the right idea. So do people who live closer to the equator. I should either get injected with bear DNA or move to Bahia or Rio.
